What does it mean to be connected to Nature, and how can that relationship support your coaching?

Nature connection, to me, is living in harmony with nature, caring and respecting the Earth. The better we take care of our environment the healthier we will be.
I’m working on being more attuned to the Earth’s cycles, the moon phases, and the seasons, etc. It is being open to what Nature has to tell, show, teach us.

In “Wilderness as a healing place” (page 44) when it says it “can allow us to build the structure of our being on a healthy foundation and also allow reconstruction and restoration of a cracked or crumbling foundation” I thought of my young childhood when I was outside almost all day in all weather every day and camping all summer every summer. I am sure that is a huge part of why I am where I am today. The latter may be even more so after many hardships growing up and in adult life as well, nature is what kept me going, was the one constant thing in my life. Even in the last 5 years since I left an abusive husband nature is what gave me strength, courage, inspiration and the energy to get to where I am today.
The way nature has helped me get through life, heal, transform, and thrive not just survive will support my coaching practice because I believe in it 100%, and I know it works. My brain seems to work in and see symbolism easily and I know this will be helpful as well.

    Hi Everybody!!
My checked luggage is all packed!! I’m at 45 pounds and 60″ according to my measurements, so here’s to hoping it’s the same at the airport!

Some things I would need to pick up in Gunnison are-
    sunscreen
    bug spray
    soap
    shampoo
    toilet paper

If you are local and bringing a regular size, or if anyone will have extra and willing to share please let me know so I don’t need to buy travel size, which is such a waste of plastic!

Please let me know ASAP. I don’t always see these messages quickly so feel free to email me at melsr81@gmail.com, find me on Facebook under Melody Rose -with a pic of me and a golden retriever, or text 604-703-6087.
Thanks, see you soon, Mel 🙂

Hi Everybody! While I start to pack I have some questions-
From the gear list, do I really need or can someone local bring me –
the Min. 100′ of nylon rigging cord (3-5mm) and 4 tent stakes
    lightweight camp chair
I was thinking too that maybe someone local could bring a regular size earth friendly soap, shampoo, etc for us to share?
    bug repellent
    dish wear if necessary
    Thanks, Mel

I was told that Ginkgo biloba helps with or to avoid altitude sickness. And it’s good for memory too which is a bonus 🙂

I hope this ends en in the correct spot..

I am looking into booking my flights to Gunnison and am wondering if everyone else has and if we will be on the same plane. At this point it looks like I will be taking the 15:55 from Denver, arriving at Gunnison at 17:02pm

    Anyone else?

Amber I will have to check out Cowspiracy. For a long time, I’ve thought of being a vegetarian but always thought I wouldn’t know what/how to eat to sustain myself. With Dan’s cooking and the different foods I ate at camp last week too, along with learning more about herbal teas, medicines, etc last week I am feeling a little bit more confident that I may be able to find a way to eat a more plant-based diet, or at the very least healthier and eat to live, not live to eat.

Hi Nadine! I love all the info you shared on the Aspens :). I’m not sure it they do this in the stated or not, but up here they spray them as weeds and there are now people fighting to “stop the spray” because, amongst other things too I’m sure, they are good at slowing down forest fires.

Possibly Nadine. I just keep finding more options, so I will go talk to the travel agent tomorrow to get some help. At this point, I believe I will be flying into Gunnison, and carpooling back to Denver to fly home since there doesn’t seem to be a good flight out of Gunnison for me on the 28th. And yes the price is double to Gunnison!! I had a few different options of where to depart from on this end but getting to those on time could be tricky, and a few hours of driving. I sent you a Facebook message too if you’d like to connect there as well. 🙂

Hi Nadine! I haven’t booked my flights yet. I’m still trying to figure out if I can get to the Seattle airport to catch that flight. I am considering maybe carpooling with EBI from Denver. I am glad to hear that if I do get that flight I’ll have some company 🙂

Hi Heather. The flights I looked at were on United. A few of us were talking about maybe carpooling from Denver. I’m not sure I’d get there on time though/ by noon on the 21st. Where are you coming from?
