Hi everyone! I am Ivy– one of the Mentors at EBI. As the autumn leaves change, I begin to feel the shift of the seasons coming and I can envision our time together drawing near. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and supporting your journey towards what you are inspired to build and bring into fuller form– to connect with nature and be in service….and many other things, I imagine. Feel free to be in touch here or via email to connect, ask questions, and anything you might wish to prepare for our time together. ivy@earthbasedinstitute.org

    Happy Autumn,
    Ivy

    Hi friends,
Just curious if any interesting art experiences have come up in your summer wanders and coaching? I had some wonderful experiences with self-created ceremony and making art with natural materials. Also, I had the opportunity to see how reading/ writing poetry and automatic writing could bring clients into a deeper nature connection and creative, learning space. It’s fascinating to watch each client and each session to see where these opportunities can fit-in, in an authentic way.

Mmmmm, I loved reading all of your thoughts here! I definitely feel the commonalities of feeling good, right, relaxed and safe in one’s own body when in nature. I hear excitement to think that a certain mode of learning/living comes from being in touch with one’s own vulnerability that nature easily makes space for and how being a nature-connected coach allows the possibility to guide others into this experience– which ultimately allows their truth to come forward.

In Coyote Guide, there’s a quote by Jon Young: …every person has a Natural Gift, but they don’t know how to see it themselves. From this perspective…every person has a unique gift that they are bringing forward into the world, and it is exactly what the world needs right now (31). As guides, do you see the possibility of your gift(s) guiding others into their gift(s)- through and by the plan of nature? 🙂 <3

    Hi Tribe,
I’ve just returned from a visit to the Starhouse. You all are definitely on my mind. A happy hello to each of you! While at Starhouse, I saw our remaining crystal on the altar pile. I saw the area where we tamped down the grass, near the Starhouse, under the pine tree. I saw the places where we sat and visited or learned together in the land. And others from EBI were visiting these places, too. It made me think of the layers and the company that is EBI– in education and community. You are part of an expanding community. See if you can sense into this community from your outpost. We are holding one another. xo

    Hi Cohort 16,

I am looking forward to seeing you at the Foundations Intensive. I am excited to meet you! Thank you for following that inner pull to connect with the NCC training at Earth Based Institute. I find that EBI is a very supportive community that stretches well beyond your cohort.

I will be arriving to the Starhouse midway through the Intensive, on the 26th. To begin, you will be supported by Daniel Brisbon, our other Mentor/TA. At each F2F, Daniel and I will split the time supporting you, Michael and all of our guest teachers.

Very best wishes for transformative 9 days!

    Ivy

From reading the posts available so far, I am jazzed to see the thread weaving through. I see a trusting into oneself in the moment and experiencing how powerful this resource/reality can be. Rachel says–“So whatever awareness I have, I can trust it.”. Kent lead his client to tap into the wisdom present in the body, the sensation of the moment: the tingling fire of a phoenix rising. Hannah noticed much about boundaries, what is me and not me yet how are they interlinked? And Mandy sunk into a deeper awareness about contact, presence and making use of one’s own body/experience in the session as an “I” noticing and experiencing in the present. I really hear a deep intention to understand and hold with a fierce gentleness–the well of everything available in trusting into the present moment. Que bello!

    Hi Joshua,
Thanks for your question about the whereabouts for the Cohort 17 Orientation Call #2. I just sent everyone an email with a link to the call. And to follow up here in the Learning Center, I am dropping in the same link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13HVtBDcUUT-xZ_GddAwx6NYrYRTH06ox/view?usp=sharing

Hi Lauren, what a big, first session with your practice client! Lots to hold as a guide and just be present with, as a safe space to allow the issues to come forward. Great job being there, holding space and also giving some direction that helped your client find some focus> Sounds like she moved some energy towards beginnings of new awareness and clarity.

It seems like a lot of initial sessions can be like this– where just getting familiar with the issues is the whole session. Yet, you also brought in such a valuable opportunity for her to move into her wants and needs on her own time in journaling. Well done! This is a gem of a suggestion and will probably open new doors of focus for her, on her own and when she next sees you. Great reflections on how Gestalt has entered into your xray vision as a coach–in your awareness and curiosity about your client and yourself in the moment. Do you yet have a sense of her deeper need?

    Hi Lauren!
Kapow! What an awesome vision you have and I can really feel all the energy around it. I hear how there are multiple threads running through on how to empower women clients and women professionals that you will partner with. The holistic vision with multiple levels of intertwined offerings sounds fantastic and I can see how you are in the center of this hub creating space for your coaching, your clients’ process while weaving of all the offerings and connections to come forward. Very dynamic!

It seems like you are ready to move deeper into your creative, empowering and dynamic vision by further defining the specific offerings you’ve already identified; carving out that niche that you found and are excited about. It feels like a lot of vision has poured forward and you have a lot to work with and produce. I look forward to hearing more about these powerful offerings to meet your goals as you named them: “Embrace their strengths, purpose and value. Love what they are doing in their life. Increase self-expression and self-worth. Use grounding and breathing techniques. Improving communication”. What do you feel are the next steps? Any obstacles? How might you partner with these women already in your life to inform your visioning?

Lauren, I loved the pictures of connection that you painted: the crying boys, the girls choosing horses, starting fires. These are so relate-able on a human level- heavy emotion/fear, choice, empowerment. Your writing reminded me of the importance of bringing the ecopsychological theory into tangible, accessible forms– which each of you will do through your coaching. You named the serious problems of disconnect from ourselves/Nature and how (re)connection is a huge opportunity and necessity to find our way to a better world.

Much of the ecopsychology reading that I’ve found points to individuals and culture really identifying with what they LOVE- from nature, to family, to relationships, to health. What we love is always a more powerful motivation for action, commitment and joy (rather than guilt or scientific data). Imagine how coaching helps to connect our clients with what they truly love and want to live for. Imagine how if it happens while being held within the awe-filled container of nature and connection. Magic! Have fun out there being your wild self. 🙂

Fantastic, Wendy! It would be fun to hear back on how this ‘speech’ is received by various parties you encounter. Best wishes!

Thanks for sharing, Kent! To know your experience is beautiful and affirming on so many levels. I love the cellular vision: from individual to wider change and interconnection. Nature, story, visions, songs are woven throughout. Trusting into this as we live, coach and/or create feels so supportive to have these larger resources for the journey. <3
